Velvia 50D
Hello!
I recently got to see some footage from the Velvia 50D and I really liked the colors and saturation.
I wonder if there's any other place besides Spectra Film & Video that sells this film stock. Anywhere in Europe prehaps, to minzimize the shipping costs?
Could Andec Filmtechnik process this stock (if found to be sold from other than Spectra)?
Is there anywhere else, besides YouTube, where I could see more of Velvia footage/compared with other footage (uncompressed)?
Thanks in advance!

Currently Spectra is the only company putting Velvia in Super 8 cartridges. Yes, Andec could process it (or any other e6 lab you choose). Wittner sell the raw stock in super 8 so it is possible to load some yourself.

I run Nano Lab - Australia's super8 ektachrome processing service

Wittner also do reloadable carts, they look like Kodak types so don't worry if you don't have any Kaccemmas.
On my blog there's a link to an ebay seller who does Kaccemmas though if you would like to try them or think you might prefer their. Mechanism.
You will make some savings doing it that way, certainly on the postage costs! Richard's Nanolab sells the Spectra stuff and it works out cheaper buying it from him than getting it direct from the USA to Europe!
Also try typing "Cinevia" or similar into ebay- they come up occasionally on the European sites.

Is Spectra's 50d jittery?, 'thecircus' did you shoot the 50d tripod mounted or handheld, i've yet to see stable 50d super 8 images, ooh and stable 16mm 50d images! Its a great stock, only bettered by k25, but i have my doubts that 50d is suitable for cine applications. Now hows the GK cart development coming along??
MIKI-814, sorry, I should have put it in my post- my blog address is

Scroll down and there's a link to the sellers shop. It's not me or anyone I know btw- the guy is actually in the Ukraine!
In my experience (2 uses thus far) Spectra's carts are not jittery, but with any manufacturer there's always a risk that a dodgy cart/camera combination will present itself.

I've never actually shot 50D, just seen the footage, therefore I can't decide whether it's jittery or not.cineandy wrote:Is Spectra's 50d jittery?, 'thecircus' did you shoot the 50d tripod mounted or handheld, i've yet to see stable 50d super 8 images, ooh and stable 16mm 50d images! The Cinevia still isn't available in Super8-carts: http://www.cinevia.eu/richard p. t. wrote:Currently Spectra is the only company putting Velvia in Super 8 cartridges.

And Retro8 is "out of stock for" the Super8-version as well: http://film.club.ne.jp/english/eng_cinevia.html

And there's still no official hint what's inside the "KAHL UT 18 Farb-Umkehrfilm" (the data sounds like the Velvia, but when you search this board you'll find some hints that it might contain some old Agfa-stock.)
So far I've only shot a single cart of the Cinevia in Single8. It has been as non-jittery as the Fujichrome R25N or RT200N.cineandy wrote:Is Spectra's 50d jittery?
