brokenflashlight wrote:I know guys. I appologize. I'm obviously the slowest, due to circumstances beyond my control. I had some bad camera problems all at once. My 1014E completely died, and the Nizo I bought off, ahem, here.. turned out to have some bad flaws and wouldn't move the film correctly. The dude I got my XL-S from off eBay said he was sending it way before he actually did. However, it's most defintely on it's way now (I have tracking confirmation) and I'll be filming the first night I get it. I could have sent it to the next in line earlier... but I'll hold off for now, and if it doesn't get to my door by the end of next week (GOD FORBID) I'll pass it off to superbus and I can get it on the turn around. Does that sound okay?
Yes, of course, no problem. I had the same problem in the project of super 8 cities and finally wasn't able to be part of it but it is another story. I hope you can film your part, it is more important, so everything is okay!

Pelle.txt wrote:Dear all,

Yes, I received the cart and I'm gonna shoot this wednesday. Later this week I will post my plans.

Pelle
My Film Festival wraps tomorrow and I should be fully recovered in time to react fast once I get the cart.

I will PM my info to Pelle right now.

Because I came in a little late and did not read every single post (forgive me, but it's long), can someone please fill me in on a few things:

We are shooting 12.5 feet each, yes?
Is there a theme or slant or are we free to do what we want?
Are people slating up front with name of shooter, city, date? (I did that for PTC I)
Are we trying to play a "relay" in anyway. For eg. if Pelle told me what he did it might influence what I do so there is some feeling of continuity.

Looking forward to it.

Humm.... I missed the whole slating thing... OOPS.... But I passed the stills onto Chas so he knew what I has shot. Then I think what he shot will go right along w/ what I shot very nicely. Surfers was it Chas? So it seems our cart is taking on a water them of sorts. Perhaps Chas, you can pass on my stills to Pelle? Or if Pelle will PM me I'll email him the stills.

Rick, since you're last on our cart, James E, Chas, Pelle, Rick P, I would say shoot all the way to the end of the cart. As might everyone who is last on the cart could shoot all the way to the end. Unless of course there's a specific reason for not doing so.....
Cheers,

Thank you very much all of you, I promise I'll do my very best to keep track every cart finish to the end. And I'll do differently is whenever the 1st cart finished, I will (or someone else) will do transfer and open it right away. So whichever finish first. All of us can see it sooner.

Vidwerk, many many thanks for your support and great you let us know about the time and update. Thank you for keeping the cart running even you have to bear pain of your leg. Thank you very much. Get well soon.

Pelle.txt. Thanks for your update... Have fun with your cart.

brokenflashlight, please don't feel bad about it... We all understand we all getting very nervous... I am too. because we spent too many afford and they disappear... with our footage. I'm so sorry about your camera. If your second camera still doesn't work well.. How about you send it to the next shooter & keep it running?... and I promise I will send it back to you at the last. I count you in... and won't leave you behind.

James, would you like me to do the process or you would do it at yours end?... whoever get the process done.. workprinter it also...

Flatwood... cowboy.. would you like to add music on it? on every carts? is that too many and take you too many time?

Thanks again for all of your supporting. I deeply believe this will happen... and we all will break the curse... Even if I die.. my wife will send the carts to someone else.. even if she die.. our dog will. Just Kidding. :D

This is probably a bit premature, but should we set up some sort of thing where we can upload the audio tracks for everyones' pieces? It would be cool to have them all in one place ... nice & neatly labeled & easy for telecine purposes. Whudyallthink?
There can be no thought of finishing, for "aiming at the stars" both literally and figuratively is a problem to occupy generations, so that no matter how much progress one makes there is always the thrill of just beginning.

Thats a good idea. Ill set up something when we get done. I also have a good library of original tracks we can use too. Just make sure its music you have the copyright on or permission to use in case we make it big on the film festival circuit!!! 8)

I think wherever the film ends up being processed that it shold all be done in one place. Then off to someone's workprinter etc. Lascoyte do you have a workprinter? The best lab hands down for super 8 in the US as far as quality is Alpha Cine in Seattle. They're a bit spendy, but the quality of their process is second to none.

Yes I have a WorkPrinter, with a new camera Canon XHA1. I believe it's good enough.

I'll deal with the processing of the 2 carts I provide. And once the film processed. Please send them to me. Once I telecine any of them. I'll pass them to Flatwood for music.

I'm still cameraless. I was going to wait until the end of the week. But ... Superbus_ I'm sending you the cartridge now. I should have done this long ago. But, what's done is done. Please, please, please send it back my way at the end?
