Scroll down to "Ten for Grandpa". I just got this clip from the DP,
Guy Godfree.

One long dolly shot that goes in and out of a couple rooms. Shot on 35mm at Wallace Studios in Toronto.

Enjoy :)

Coo!

I like the push into the hallway with the totally different lighting. Very nice.

if i can get away with playing with cameras and calling it a job i'll be a happy, happy, happy man. It's some nice camera work

Anyone remember the 4-minute long dolly shot in the original version of Barry Lyndon, where his stepson goes looking for him in a huge, 18th century flophouse for rich patrons? It went room to room as well. Amazing pre-steadicam work.

Wierdly, Kubrick later cut it down to about ten seconds. Because of his estate, we'll never see it again (just like the original 20 minutes cut from 2001...)

There's a lot of that kind of stuff in Kubrick, notably the long dolly shot in the trenches in Paths of Glory with the camera backing up. Off the top of my head you'll find similar shots in The Killing, 2001, A Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut. The one in EWS was with Cruise on a treadmill and the background front projected.
