Hi everyone, it has been a while since I last posted, so I thought it was about time I got off backside and joined in the discussions again!
I wanted to praise once again the service that Frank Bruinsma provides at his Super 8 Reversal Lab in Rotterdam.
How about I put a link to some Ektachrome 100D Super 8 that Frank sold and processed?
Here is a link to some footage shot at my wedding last summer -
Sorry it's not of the best quality artistically or technically  but you can just about see how the stock performed on the (overcast) day - It was 32c and blue sky the day before!
I love the look of the 100D . Every time I see it I think it's my favourite stock but I've never actually bought any. I'm going to have to change that. Thanks for the link
Very nice indeed...the 100D looks fab even in the rain..I love that old car too..I got a thing about old cars
Was it a home telecine or did you have it done professionally ?
Anyhow belated congrats on your wedding...

It is a wonderful stock, and yes you are going to have to buy some - you won't regret it

Thanks! The car was a 1961 Ford Taunus and was in original condition! We had a 1960's theme for our wedding and so we wanted a period car! We were lucky to get one, as on the same day and time as our wedding there was a vintage car rally!

I had it transferred to Digibeta at BBC Television Centre. I attended the transfer and got the look I wanted - also had an adjustment made as some of the footage was accidentally shot at 18fps - so I was glad. They do an excellent job!
I'm just sad that my lack of skills at publishing the video on the web don't allow you to see the real quality of the filmstock / processing & transfer.. hey ho

Very nice footage. We shot black & white Tri-X for our wedding/honeymoon.
As for web video, I would suggest blip.tv for uploading high quality. There is no file limit, so you could up-load a large QuickTime file. The only downside is that the larger the file, the longer it takes for people to load/view it.
First of course congrats with your marriage. Your happiness on that day shows in many ways in this movie !
I agree with your excitement concerning the E100D and the development of the film by Frank Bruinsma at Super 8 lab Holland. Had some nice results from him also.
I only hope that you are getting the opportunity to also use this beautiful film in sunny weather - then it's even more great.
Good luck the three of you in all the coming years !
Congratulations! Fantastic job by all concerned. 100D really does look like Kodachrome. What camera did you use?
When I get married in Shrewsbury next year, I am thinking about giving several of the guests some idiot-proof point and shoot focus-free type cameras such as Sankyo EM-20XL's loaded with reasonably compatible film types such as Velvia, Fuji Eterna Vivid 160T and Tri X, instruct them to make all the shots between 5 and 10 seconds in length and shoot candidly- bingo! The Super 8 equivalent of leaving disposable 35mm cameras on every table at the reception!
Of course I'll be getting a friend who actually knows about Super 8 to shoot the "official" version on a decent camera with some 100D outdoors and 500T inside!

Cool. Do you have a link? Would like to see it!
I love the beauty of the Plus-X & Tri-X stocks - in fact I'm shooting some Tri-X Super 8 AND Tri-X stills at a friends wedding at the end of this month!
I chose 100D for our wedding as we had the photos shot on a similar stills film - I wanted to have a colour and image harmony between the super 8 footage and the stills!

Hi Paul, and thanks!

He's a top man! Good job - good service - you can't beat that!

Well, 2 days after the wedding I did get that chance! It IS amazing under sunny blue skies! I have a couple of carts left, I'm saving those for the spring!

Thank you! It was all shot on a canon 1014xl-s.

Sounds like a good idea! I had planned to do the same - I was going to buy a couple of AF cameras like the Canon 514XL-S - but decided against it in the end!

Congraulations! Nice memories of your special day.
I like the look, and the excellent transfer to DigiBeta. You can tell the difference although it's Youtube quality.
Although I have shot quite a few weddings on super 8 over the years for relatives and friends, I wish my wedding was shot on film. But it's hard to find a competent super 8 cameraman, so it was recorded on dv.

Thanks Bill!

I'm glad - it makes a difference when you can attend the transfer and advise on the look you want for each scene!

Agreed. I just HAD to have my wedding on film - it was a non negotiable! I had to shoot the stuff in the car leading up to the Chruch - I was lucky enough to have my brother in law to shoot the after ceremony stuff - he's a pro photographer - but it was the first time he'd shot any super 8 - he did a great job considering!
