best single 8 camera?

Post by paul »

Hi,

I know the zc1000 being the best option and the zc800 being second best. But these do not show up too often on ebay and are generally quite expensive as well.

What would be the third best option then for a (fujica) single 8 cam?

I prefer good/best optics, manual override and 24 fps.

Thanks,

Paul

I would say the Z-700 but it is even more difficult to find. The next best would be the Z600 but the coating on the lens is not as good than on the ZC1000 / Z800.

There might be a few good sound cameras but they only do 18 fps.

Fujica Z2 - the best camera is the one you happen to own.

Hello:

I own two nizo S 800, both out of work, and was wondering if anybody knows a specialized and cheap :P workshop in Europe or technician to repair them. One of them has some fungus in the lens or the viewer, and the motor doesn´t run. And in the other, it had oxide in the battery compartment contacts; I changed the compartment with the one of the other camera, but it stills doesn´t run. I am thinking about repair them, or at least one of them, or -if it´s so expensive- leave them in my little "museum".

Suppose this was for a new thread???

Think of http://www.de-snek.nl
or a few in germany. Better check on needed time before shipping. Otherwise they may be away for months.
Kind regards,

André

For a professional use, the best of Single 8 cameras is Fujica zc1000 + Angenieux lens + a new fine grain single 8 film

Here is an example from a Japanese enthusiast. With lens aperture wide open but the image is still very sharp and with little flare.

Meaning what? Is single-8 plentiful in Netherlands compared to other countries? I find classified-sections and auctions in Japan very meager on Single-8.

Hi,

yes, Single8 sold better in the Netherlands than in the other European countries. Hence you can find a lot of Fujica- & non-Fujica-Single8-cameras on marktplaats.nl (17 single8-cameras, at the moment only Fujicas - compared to 4 Fujicas on eBay Germany), while there are nearly only Fujica-Single8-cameras on eBay UK/Germany/Austria/France/Italy/Spain. (For some strange reasons there are nearly no Dutch auctions on eBay.)
You'll also find tons of Single8-cameras on the Japanese Yahoo-auctions, e.g.: http://search.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/s ... at=0&apg=1
. (For some strange reasons there are nearly no Japanese auctions on eBay.)
