I sent a couple of rolls of standard-8 Kodachrome off to Dwayne's at the beginning of the month - they were packed in PK59 mailers. Dwayne's now tell me that if they were sent without a signed release form, they would have been forwarded to Kodak to contact me for this. I didn't realise that the release form was necessary for standard-8 films, is this not the case?
Also, if Kodak are going to contact me, how are they going to do it? Do they write, or email? I left all my contact details on the mailers, and used a covering letter. I'm a bit concerned I'm never going to see my films again, at this rate....

If you are worried, you could always re-contact Dwayne's and tell them you want to pay for the processing directly (and the return postage). Then they will just do them, charge you and send them back.

OK, well Dwayne's now say (after kindly checking their records for me) that they don't think they've received the films (yet), which would account for the delay - presumably my films are in a sorting office somewhere or perhaps have gone by surface mail. They've also confirmed that the waiver form is not necessary for regular-8, only for super 8, so that's been cleared up.
