Are we going to use Kodachrome? if yes we can call it "Pass the Cart-Reborn" or "Pass the Cart - Awaken"??? just kidding  .

Why not just call it Pass The Cart 0708... and let's limit the cart to maybe 4 or something.

I can giving out 1 cart of E64T or Tri-X ...

Then next year around November, we make another one Pass The Cart 0809.... so it becomes a "Between 2 years" project . The purpose of "Between 2 years" is to memories the original LONG TIME project.

What do you guy thinks?

And maybe we can pass along 1 thing with the cart like maybe a baseball, or a newspaper, or even a can of peanutbutter... 4 cameraman each cart and then when edit together it would be fun to see different people from different cities how to finish off or eat off a can of peanutbutter.

I don't know... just an idea. :P

Well, I was thinking about making the same idea again.

I think it's is better to have no other rules than just the time limit and the type of our film. Sending something with the cart makes it more complicated and not gives to the director enough freedom.

On the other hand I agree with the idea to repeat this project in a two years period, but first let's do our first film!
Of course this is just my oppinion - you can vote against me...

I don't know.. but since Superbus is the rehost of this project. If he believes no subject is better. I'm happy to join too. As long as the main purpose of this project is different people from different world share different images on the film...

Let's do it... let's not waste the idea.

I can give out a cart of E64T to the project...

Or I can give out a cart of Tri-X too if there are enough people to join...

Like everyone else, I'm in no matter what we decide. But since there is so much discussion and buzz about the 100D, why don't we give it a try?

The only problem I can see is the possible limitations of some of the cameras people might want to use. I've shot it very successfully with my 814 XL-S so I haven't had to worry about it, and I confess, all the tech discussion about cart notching, etc. bores the hell out of me. Still, it might cause problems for some.

So maybe 64T would be the better choice. Or, if we decide on b&w, why not Plus-x? Is there any argument for going with the Tri-x instead? Plus-x is just so much more beautiful, and less problems with limited cams, right? And b&w might be something really different than the whole kodachrome thing.

One final note about the last project, maybe we should just put out the word that we just want all the carts back, mojohey can relinquish control and responsibility if he gets all the footage to someone who can do something with it. Maybe he has dropped out of sight because of lack of time/money and simply doesn't want to deal with it. A shame to lose all that though.

Oh, and if by chance we decide on 100D, I'll contribute one cart from Spectra. I can also start one of the Tri-x/Plus-x carts, but all of the 64T I have is that old first-wave stuff. :)

:D Yes I can contribute 1 cart of Plus-X too if it goes with that.

Please... Just someone make a decision and start it from there.

Whatelse we need?

Project title: Pass the Cart 2007 / Pass the Cart 0708?

Film source: Etim, lastcoyote, Superbus_

Film type: E64T / Tri-X / Plus-X / 100D

Each cart 4 players, how many more will join?... whoelse will join?

1-2 weeks?? Plus another week for mailling the cart from place to place... 4 members will take around 2-3 months to finish off a cart..

Is it too long?

2 weeks is reasonable I think to get a shoot in, plus mail time too. And Tim, Im with you on trying to get Mojo to send us the project. We could take it to completion and salvage his production credit.

I don't know too much about the camera notches but I will shoot my part with a canon 814 xl electronic. I hope this camera will be good for my purposes.

But know we have more carts than participants... :)))

What do you think about filming more? One person / 1 or 2 minutes?

I recommend you to choose Flatwood for being a head of this project because we need one man who can make the final film and music and I think he is the right person for that!

Ok, here's another idea to toss in. We have a small, but dedicated crew so lets each take a cart. take a month to shoot once we nail down a starting date and have some kind of main theme running through each film - to be decided - so the scenes can be intercut to tell some sort of loose story or at least give the appearance of it. Each person is responsible for getting the cart and following it through to the end with processing and telecine and getting the final footage to me. If we use actors speaking we can subtitle in whatever languages we choose over the music bed. Lets make it worth sending in to a couple of small film festivals - at least the Macon GA film fest next year.

It would be cool too if we could intercut some digital video in with the film as a back story of the filming process with our super 8 cameras - I have a Canon 1014e that I will be using.

Choose your own film stock. Maintain good records of technical information which we can use later.

I dunno??? too complicated or not complicated enough???

I like this idea. I think we need to use the same filmstock at least decide B&W or colour.

We also need to find some common idea between the different parts of the final film but something which is not materialistic. I hope you understand what I mean.

Anyway, Im down for whatever the few of us work out. How many of us is it now, five. Maybe we can come up with one more and make it an even half dozen. I do like cutting color and b&w film together. Ive been doing it in music video for years to good effect.

What localles do we have represented now??? Should we start a new thread of keep this one alive until it has at least 100,000 views???

I've checked in on this thread for about a year from time to time, never really understanding what the initial purpose was :-)

But just a thought, wouldn't it be cool to shoot 1 roll of every super 8 film stock available, including all of the pro8mm stocks?

I'd be willing to sponsor say 10 rolls from pro8mm, and I have some kodachrome and vision 200t, and perhaps a roll of agfachrome and e160 lying around.

Also, I have approx 3.5 Gb free on my domain http://www.super8.no to host the finished films (don't know if that's enough, but it should be enough to host clips from each film type).

Heck, I'd buy another domain if I could have a complete overview on one page with film clip examples of every available film stock, and with which camera and under which conditions the shoot was done.

Just a thought!
