There is not only a report about the new designed Super 8 cartridge inside smallformat 5/2007 but also the first ad for ordering this Cinevia film. I think in about 6 weeks this film will be available.

Don't hold your breath on this - I newly subscribed last February with this offer being made and am still waiting for the cartridge to arrive - after a few months the excuse was supply difficulties on 64T. I've just given up any hope of receiving it.

Magazine worth every penny - so it is a shame when publishers cannot deliver on offers.

UPDATE : Following Juergen's personal assistance the publishers have sent the cartridge which has now been safely received. Just to confirm, the magazine is great and well worth the subscription - now the film has been sorted out I am more than happy to recommend it.

The same here, bought a sample copy through an eBay auction. Never received the magazine. Several emails sent. Got only blahblah holiday excuses and such nonsense from Ingrid Bade who works at the publisher. The resent magazine also never arrived. It is only 500km or even less. I am not the only complainer in their feedback. Must be like 6 months. Lost interest all together.

A bit of shame while the editor puts so much energy in the publisher back-office fails completely.

Another great looking edition. Weddings are relatively large users of super 8. I recon about 20% of our processing is for weddings! Never would have guessed that when we started. Same goes for scate board films!
And Porter at the other end of the spectrum. To me one of the most interesting long term users of s8 around. Really look forward to it.

Yep, I finally finished translating the "Only on paper" article for this issue. It will include all manner of oddities.

Highlights include the nifty dual-cartridge camera by Agfa, the mysterious Bolex Single-8, an Eumig film/video monstrosity and some incredibly weird stuff from Polaroid (yes, even stranger than Polavision).

I am happy to say that we could solve both small "problems" mentioned in this threat. If you do not know smallformat yet, don't hesitate to ask for a complimentary copy.

I think the magazine is terrific. I got a complimentary copy to start and loved it so I subscribed, then I received another complimentary copy to give to a friend (which went to a good friend who is a BSC). Delivery has been regular although I have moved mid-subscription. Love the articles. Keep up the great work.

I'm a big fan as well. Excellent research, writting and design.

I wish Kodak would fly Juergen to Rochester and give him a tour of their Super 8 facilities and a little insight into their thinking on the product. Seems like we're always reading tea leaves when it comes to Kodak.

They do sell Super 8 film, why not put a little effort into promoting it? It would be so easy for them to just communicate a little better with Super 8 fans.

I'd love an article about the moving of MP production to the USA from France, including a tour of the current facilities.

To be fair, Kodak have promoted super 8 in recent years...they co-sponsored an event in London in 2000 and that was their first advertising of super 8 in over 20 years (I believe)....and they have had ads for the Vision2 stocks in super 8 Today and Small Format.
