I recently bought an Agfa Movexoom 10 mos electronic at auction, with no instuction book. The motor runs very sweetly, but the exposure meter is completely dead. I have been all over the camera, but cannot find a seperate battery compartment for a meter battery, or a meter switch. Am I missing something, or have I got a dead meter? :?:
Thanks,
Mike.

Hi Mike,
Did you check the manual? I know it's in German, but I think you ought to check it out anyway... There are often pictures and stuff that might give you a lead if you're not speaking German.

Generally speaking, a broken light meter is a bad thing. Normally you wouldn't spend time or money trying to repair these things on the "cheaper" cameras. Spare parts are normally very hard to find unless you have a second camera that has something else broken.
Sorry I can't help you any more. Best of luck!

Hello agfa users, i also got one, and also a friend of mine, he recently got some problems with it,
He was shooting super8 in the desert when suddenly the camera stopped and a red light in the front just lit,
What does it means this light, i don't have a manual, and i don't have the camer near me so i couldn't help him, the other functions on camera are working, zoom etc. But the motor is not running,
Please help, thanks

Broken meter Agfa Movexoom
When the contact is allright - the controllight on the side of the camera lits when turning the knob for the batterycheck - you could try to take the batteries out and putting them in, right after. I once did with my Movexoom 6 and it solved the problem (but not sure if that works for your friends camera also. The problem also could have been caused by the desertheat...) just try it.
The led on the front is the controllight so the one(s) you aim at, can see that you're filming. Success !

...not sure about that camera, but several light-meters only work when there's a film in the camera (there's normally a small pin to detect the presence of the cartridge) and when the camera is set to "standby" or "rolling".
Not to mention that your Agfa can be set to "manual". This will -of course- disable the automatic exposure meter.
