But when you're a student filmmaker paying for college, Wal-Mart is your best friend unfortunately. And as I understand it, Wal-Mart loses money with this arrangement, which means you're doing more to fight Wal-Mart by participating:-pwado1942 wrote:I'm boycotting Walmart. At any rate, I'd rather just send my film to Dwayne's myself and KNOW that it's in good hands.
When I have sent film to Dwaynes via WalMart I write in the special services box, Kodachrome slides. The envelope gets sent to the right place, and once at Dwaynes, they obviously know its super 8 and process it accordingly. Since the price for slide film developing is the same as movies, there hasnt been any problem. The only mis-adventure I have had with Wal Mart is when my film was sent to the wrong store, one which was like on the other side of town. I had to track it down myself, and then make the drive. On the plus side, they did not charge me for it since it was their mistake. Honest! So now when I drop off movie film I also draw several arrows pointing the the store address on the envelope.
Oh yeah, Dwaynes does nice work on Kodachrome slides too.

Good plan,
I'll try that next week when the screw-up regime continues.

Clean with a leader -- 85B looks too orange to me. I'm going to try the internal 85 filter instead.
$4.88 and no shipping charges or hastle!
Thank you Dwaynes, thank you Fuji, and thank you Walmart -- very cool.
Now if Dwaynes could drop 100D into their once-a-week 16mm run.
I wonder if Walmart will handle 16mm???
As they say in Jamaica:Yessss

Call the 800 number on the walmart envelope. Speak to a rep. They are usually helpful tracking the envelope number. Assuming you saved the envelope tag with the number. Also you can email Dwayne's to see if they got the envelope. When the film went through Kodak, I found that Dwayne's had more information about missing films than Kodak.
