i think cristoph´s vodoo trix must be worthwhile.

it is free
it is simple and
it seems to work.

i allways damned the silent carts to be crap due to lack of a lower loop - unlike the souind carts....
and my S films allways looks more stable than the zilent ones.

K seem to allways have had some issues with the zilent ones it appears... ref patented improvements on a line in the 60s....

shoot....
..tnx for reminding me Michael Lehnert.... or Santo or.... cinematography.com super8 - the forum of Rednex, Wannabees and Pretenders...

200T jums

I think when we use negative film on Super8 cameras,
a pressure plate will help increase steadiness and eliminate optical or mechanical problems of your
camera. You can read more on :

Thanks!

unfortunately in this case it doesnt..
we tried both, with the pressure plate and without and the film jammed all the same.

i still like the idea though.

I found it strange that 2 days after this thread was posted, my Beaulieu 4008 also jammed, but on a cart of Tri-X.
Towards the end of the cart, the camera started making loud clicking sounds as though it wasn't registering properly.
I had to take the cart out and replace it to resume filming and had to do this numberous times. I only just got the film back from the lab today.
A couple of perfs are torn in the problem area with over-exposed frames because of it not transporting.
I hope it didn't damage my camera as it did Jusetan's.
The film is fairly new and was in a white foil wrapper with serveral languages on the box, including Asian text which I've never seen on the boxes until recently.

I was also informed by the lab here in Toronto(Exclusive Film/Video)
that there has been a world wide recall of all E64T.
Aparently there have been several reports of people open the foil and having the "EXPOSED" end of the film at the start. Weird.
Can anyone confirm this?

wow, that is wierd (the exposed thing).

My service tech replaced the spring that activates the pulldown claw on my beaulieu. It is a pretty advanced little spring, glad he happened to have a spare one! He also check my got my camera running solid as all speeds. (it had run slightly closer to 20fps at 24fps).

Was it really the end?
And then were perfs at the correct side? Or was it upside down, the loose end hanging from the top or from the bottom?
Kind regards,

André

Couldn't tell you. I didn't get into it with the lab owner.

Hey Jusetan, Who's your tech guy in T.O. ?
I've had repairs done on my A512 twice before by Kominek and I was very disappointed. The cost was high, and they didn't fix the problem.

Prices are reasonable. He's pretty good. Had to take a couple cameras back to have them 'refixed'.. but fixes most things first time around. Hate to say it like that, but that's the way it is. He's local and easy to deal with so I go to him.

He also has some cameras for sale including a bolex rex5 16mm.

Overall nice guy. Located at bathurst and eglinton.

I know someone who had their 814XLS handed back to them still disassembled in a parts basket, along with a bill for $300.00!

Perhaps Kominek were charging them for the basket...

I filmed 14 200t's and had no jams :)

I feel relieved.

Hopefully I will still feel that way when I get them back from the lab..but at least.. no jams...
