First time Super 8mm user

Post by Skippy »

Well i am a student studying Digital video in swansea and i am very much interested in exploring Super 8mm.

I was wondering is there any good books i could read, that would help me learn about exposure and film types etc?

Also is there a list of cameras that are compatiable with KODAK EKTACHROME 64T.

any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Tom

Go to your local library and look for old books on film making. I've found several that are even specific to super 8 film making. eg:All In One Movie Book by: Paul Petzold. There are tons of old books in libraries that cover the subject. Good luck and welcome aboard!

'The Book of Movie Photography' by David Cheshire is another good read for specifics on super 8 film making and equipment - a very detailed and comprehensive book. If I recall, it was published in the early 80s.

You might also check eBay and second-hand camera-stores. (You should prefer the stores since those "Getting started with Super8"-books normally cost 2 or 3 EUR there, while the same books on eBay are 5 to 15 EUR + shipping.)

The free "mini course" on this webpage isn't that bad either:
