E64T Screening

E64T Screening
I screened my new micro-doc 'Panopticon' at Filmonik in Manchester last night. It was shot on E64T with 85B filter, telecined on a FlashScan and editing in Final Cut before being burnt to DVD for projection. It was the only Super 8 film in an evening of DV and the really nice comment was that the organisers thought it looked like a 'series of paintings'. Others commented that there really was no beating Super 8 film - the whole thing kinda restored my faith in 64T!!
Here's the link for those that are interested, the sound still needs some work.
It was a reel I had left over from last year - it need a very short project of its own! Needs Quicktime 7 - its in h264.

Hey up Giles. I was there!
Did the artist set the pipes up to play certain frequencies? I cant make out if all the pipes are the same length.

Daddysauce: In Manchester last Sunday - really - how cool - I think I know where you were sat!?
I'm not sure how the artist worked out the frequencies etc. the tubes are of differnt lengths (all the same diametr) and they are orientated at different angles into the prevailing wind. Some tubes are hollow all the way thru, others are capped at one end with a slit cut into them (kind of like a giant flute).
I've been up to the site three times now and the sounds are always very different. All the sounds in the film are on location wild sounds recorded on my DV camera via an external Rode VideoMic then layed afterwards on Final Cut. Because the place is so windy I had real problems with wind noise so had to buy a "dead cat" windshield and go back - twice!
