Beaulieu 4008ZMII shutter and internal filter question

Post by gene_can_sing »

Hi I have a few questions about the Beaulieu 4008ZMII

1) Does this model have a variable shutter? Is it set to 180 degrees by default? If it does have a variable shutter, how do you go about changing the shutter angle? I need this info for proper use of the light meter

2) From what I understand, the 4008ZMII has two internal filters (an 85B and a UV). I believe my particular camera has these filters since I got it from Bjorn Anderson. Does the 85B filter require that I compensate with a 2/3rd F-Stop difference?

3) Is there a way to switch the Filter (85B) On or Off. Is that what the Filter Key that came with the camera does? I've actually heard the internal filters are NOT to be touched. Is this true?

1) the 4008zmII has a variable shutter with two settings: about 100 degrees (1/86 at 24fps) and approximately 50 degrees (1/170 at 24fps). The shutter can be changed via the sliding mechanism on top of the camera. To set the shutter to half open (~50 degrees) you slide it to the middle and pull it up.

3) Yep slide the filter into the slot at the top of the handle to switch from the daylight filter to the UV.

Sorry I can't remember about the compensation as I never use the internal meter anymore.
