This Cartoon Blew My Mind Out: "Sen To Chihiro No Kamik

Post by S8 Booster »

By coincidence i came to watch this film the other day:
"Sen To Chihiro No Kamikakushi"
since my son watched it on TV.. at first i thought it was just another Pokemon clone or something but sat down to acompeny him... i soon came to realise that this was something totally different - it totally blew my mind on just about every aspect of filmmaking - not to mention the beautiful imagery and emotion intepretation.

anywayhow... if you get at chance to watch it dont go miss it....

I know. Saw it on TV about 6 months ago. It’s a very nice film, simply captivating.

My daughter also has "Castle in the Sky", which is a Japanese animated movie that I enjoy very much. An american animated cartoon that I find to be very compelling is "Iron Giant". Probably some of the best cartoon animation I've even seen since the classic Disney days. Vin Diesel performs the voice for the Iron Giant. Interesting.....

"Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi" aka "Spirited Away" won an oscar in 2003 for Best Animated Feature.

I was on wide spead general release in the UK.

All the Hayao Miyazaki films I have seen have been a great. As are most of the Sudio Ghibli films.

Castle in the Sky is one on my favorites too!

Chris.

You should also try and see Princess Mononoke, from the same director... all his movies are impressive.

Princess Mononoke is excellent, as well as My Neighbour Totoro. He is indeed the Kubrick of animation.

I Love them all, especially "Kiki's Delivery Service". My daughter loves Kiki and Totoro, but was creeped out by "Spirited Away".
