16mm Film series in Seattle

Post by mediabay »

Tonight is the inagural night for 16mm films at Seattle's Central Cinema. I'll be bringing my kit and some films - the feature is Hitchcock's "Secret Agent", plus a short and cartoon which I haven't decided on yet.
I'll be doing this on the first Monday of every month, and more often if it proves to be popular. So if any of you are in town on the first Monday, come on over the the theater and I'll buy you a beer (or soda if you prefer).

If you have any 16mm film that you have shot, or a cool piece from your collection you' like to show, just bring it by and we'll put it up on the screen too.

Here is the website for Central Cinema: http://www.central-cinema.com/

Hi Nigel,
The projectors are coming from my storage locker :)
I have several B&H 1538B Arc projectors and one Elmo Xenon. The arc and of course the xenon would show your film off very well. What is the title?

I have stacks of prints. Let me see which ones I would like to bring. They will need a cleaning too. Let me price that out first before I give the full...Go sign.

Well I clean my prints just before I show them. In fact I'm on my way now to clean them for tonight so I might be able to help with that. Let me know what you might be interested in showing and we can discuss. Shoot me an email off line if you want philip at mediabayproductions dot com.
Cheers!

I LOVE THIS IDEA SO MUCH.Beer. Pizza. 16mm movies plus a chance to show my work, WOW!

I'm actually planning a trip to seattle within a few months and this is definitely on my must go list. Just curious, how are the projectors set up because my sound is on mag stock? Once again, fantastic idea, I would love to have one set up around here.

You may be in luck - and not just because they have beer on tap. I'm looking to add to my projector collection a double-band projector to play mag stock with silent films. So if you do come to show some film I could probably handle the setup you need.

I'll post some photos tomorrow of our first event. It was a LOT of fun!

Sorry...

I know I was no where to be seen. A friend of mine is in town from South Dakota and we watched movies and shared ideas over many a bottle of wine.

Next month--Maybe.

Good Luck
PS--Tomatoes in the winter suck.

Yep. Sure am. I don't have the final list of films completed yet, but will let you know. Hope to see some of you there.
