charecteristics of new plus-x and tri-x?

Post by super8er »

i recently got back a few rolls of the old tri-x back from development and they looked absolutely beautiful apon projection, how similar is the new tri-x? does it have finer grain than the original tri-x? what about the new plus-x? does it still have finer grain than tri-x? images would be greatly apreciated, thank you.

the new tri-x is better than the old. finer grained, more neutral tone. the new plus-x is more like the old, other than being faster, slightly not as coarse grain structure.

I thought Plus-X is more grainy than old.

the old plus-x was distinctively coarse, the new stuff matches with the new tri-x better. and they are both "smoother" from grain to grain. more nuetral in tone.

although being that the new plus-x is faster, I would agree; the physical size of the grain is actually larger.
