I think that it looks great for indoor purposes! That is why i think that we need both 100D and 64T. The great 1014 lens really makes the difference does'nt it?

those look really great! Thanks for posting them. I haven't used 64T in Tungsten lights yet, only daylight. I want to give it a try now!

It does look swell!

At f2.8, how much light, just in watts and distance from subject, did you use?

I think it's extraordinarily under lit. Maybe you want the background to be almost black but I'd put in some soft boxes to the far sides of the shot.

thanks for your opinions

i only cared about the subject, i put a pinza 500w with yellow gel in the back to see how the light falls off on the background. there were 2 red-heads(800w) at full power as back-kickers 3Meters away. a kinoflo-like light(4x58w) with 1/2wd as sidefill and a dimmed blonde(2000w) at around 2/3 power through a 1/2 wd Frame as key about 2.5m away.

very nice. the late reply is due to the limited resolution of my phone, so i didn't see the quality before. the skintones and sharpness look a lot like the music video we just shot. i think this is a remarkable stock. for those of you who like to know how much light was needed, for key we used two 2x800w spacelights (overhead softboxes) hung about one meter overhead, one redhead with theatrical utramarine or azur as a kicker maybe five meters away and one redhead through a frame of 216 full white diffusion for frontal fill about three meters away, on a dimmer since we moved it around. at 3 meters it was at 2/3. the fill read f/1, the key f/2 and the kicker f/2.8. we exposed at f/1.4 and the results look pretty much dead on. you know you're working with a good dp when the f-stop you chose is nowhere to be found in the scene. i tend to do the same. i'll post some stills and clips in the "new standard" thread tomorrow.

can i critique the lighting though? i like the way the background is much darker and all, but the kickers, while lighting the hair in a nice way, look rather crappy on the face. i would move them so that they either only light the hair or much more of the face depending on how dramatic you want the image to be. i know it was a test so maybe that's part of what you were testing. well now you know. ;-)

im looking forward on those.

yes sure i like you to. i wanted to create a kind of heroic look, im gonna try to set the kickers so there is even more light falling on the face, plus i'll try to lower them, i dont like the shadow on the forehead from the talents hair blocking the light.

Thanks, Thomas
