But how can they continue selling new films that much longer when production will stop this march? Or will they just do a last, extremely large batch this year and store it in some cold storage houses?

It would not be necessary to repair their film production equipment if they were not going to continue making film. ;)

Muddy..As you said , Fuji has not said they will keep producing or not.
But, I think that mean they will keep producing film and developing as well.
They say..they has to invest money in changing(repairing) machine(this was direct reason why they dicided to stop single 8 .)

And now. they change their mind.

Juergen's translation is correct.

They ask customers a favour "please understand price increase.(to keep doing this business)"

Changing a plan which was announced almost one year ago , new film price and new investment in machine.

I think(hope) this might be fuji's dicision(single8) to keep going on for a long time.

What appears to have happened is that Fuji figured that if they were going to have to repair some of their processing and striping machinery, they might as well continue to make film-- for at least the time being. And they had no choice but to repair the equipment, because of all the film that was out there.

I don't think their decision was made on the basis of public outcry, merely the need to justify their necessary emergency investment.

But, they're going to raise the price, and it sounds like a might be quite a bit, from their warning...

They only "raise" the price Euro 2 (US $ 2.60) for RT25N and Euro 2,75 (US $ 3.15) for RT200N. Even now the film is cheaper than Ektachrome 64T (in Japan).

There was a great protest inside Japan - and the company wrote a 3-pages letter to the protesting people. Yes, FUJI cared about those protests. This is the difference...

Hello,

four days ago, i bought some FUJI Single8 films in Tokyos Retro8 store.
The old price (as you can see on their website) was:

1x Fuji RT200N - 1.590 Yen
1x Fuji R25N - 1.310 Yen

new price in the store:
1x Fuji RT200N - 1.670 Yen
1x Fuji R25N - 1.375 Yen

Because of the current strong "Euro vs. Yen" it means:
1x Fuji RT200N - ca. 9.02 Euro
1x Fuji R25N - ca. 10.96 Euro
(all without processing)

I think this is a really good price, but my question is the same:
Where to buy good and not to pricy Single8 cameras?

cheers,
André

There are several single8-cameras on eBay Germany at the moment. Or ask Retro8 since they're selling used cameras, too. ASA90 and Foto Braune here in Berlin sometimes do have used single8-cameras as well...

There is always a lot of Single 8 cameras available at Yahoo! auctions japan. If you can read japanese that is... Just do a search for fujica; a third of the results will be single 8 cameras.

I am also very happy about the news from Fuji. I am feed up by the poor Super 8 stability.
