Bauer super 8 cameras jamming

Post by danielneuhausd »

Does anyone know if there are any known problems with a Bauer super 8
camera's ability to advance the new ektachrome 64 cartridge? Mine jams up on me A LOT, but I seem to experience no problems when using the old kodachrome...that isnt around anymore so I cant really test it, but are there any known porblems, or does anyone else experience the same thing?

Have you tried more than one Ektachrome cartridge? It's possible you have a defective one, but if you have several, then you might have a defective batch. I had a defective cart the other day. Very frustrating. In fact, I've probably had 2 defective 64T carts and I have only shot about 20 rolls. Not a good ratio.

Also check the batteries in your Bauer. Don't even think about rechargables...even when fully charged! I was getting carts I thought were finished or stuck, etc., and then I did a battery change and bingo...they worked fine. You probably should make sure they're greater than or equal to 1.5V
