Don't kill me, but I had an idea.....

Cool
Roger, what an awesome idea. I'm looking at my Bealieu camera and thinking: c-mount lenses ... true depth of field ... a 'video' camera in a 4008 body ... that would be sweet and very post-modern.
I *know* you are going to try it, Roger. That's what I dig about guys like you: you can't have an good idea and not try to implement it. Engineers rule.

SPD card(solid state memory card) is announced at the NAB 2003 by Panasonic. Panasonic is planning to ship them around Spring 2004.
Sony:bule ray disk VS. Panasonic: SPD card????
MAX. Transfer Speed x20/DVCPRO data(25Mbps)
PCMCIA Card interface
rewritable for about 30000 times
I think this small camera is DV camcorder.
The grip of the camera will be the lens cover when you fold it.
40% smaller and lighter than normal DV camcorder.
There is not much information right now. I will keep you updated if I find news about this product.

Interesting - I know this technology has been under way for some time but a bit surpriced that it will be introduced in 2004.
Some companies claim the storage capacity is now up to 2,3 TB (terrabyte, 1000 GB) on a PC card. Super-Duper consumer HD - here we come!
