Xmas 2006 filming, advice needed please

Hi, rather than blinding my cousins little ones with a floodlite, plan to use the canon 310xl manual focus version, with either 100D or 64t.
Has anyone used 100D or 64t in low lite, as i like the warm look, filming will be done with 64t with the filter in place. Previous xmas filming was done with k40, that came out ok. Will 64t be tooo grainy, can i expect sharp results with 64t.

It depends on the conditions. Unless your celebrationg Xmas next to a big window, you will need some added light or fast film like 500T.

If you've used K40 before, it goes without saying that under similar light conditions 64T will have no trouble....obviously neither will 100D as long as you're talking daylight.

I recently shot some footage on board a ferry in the bar using 100D and no filter (fluorescent lighting) and it came out lovely, really captured the atmosphere of the bar.

Personally I much prefer 100D over 64T but the latter is more widely available.

I suggest you just bounce the floodlight off the ceiling. No blinding and the indirect light is very pleasing. That way you'll get proper exposure while still using the low-speed reversal stocks. For home-movie type stuff, I'm a big fan of this method.

If you do go the floodlight route...obviously 64T is your only choice as 100D requires a filter knocking its sensitivity down to 25ASA for artificial light.
