"last rolls" music video. first cut.

very good. like always matt :0. I especially like the hard light medium / Cu shots. there are a couple less hard and softer focus head shots I wasn't too found of. as far as editing goes; because the beat it a bit like 4:4 time, maybe you should mix up the shot length more. juxtapose even longer takes with quick cuts. and try to stay away from matching the beat.
other than that, I really think it is good. production value is good.

oh, and if you like it you can vote for it here. the nomos version is not quite the final one, but very close. make sure you watch and vote for all the films though. i'm not posting this to boost my own score.

...I think it is remarkably well done as I've said before, but you added a shot that I snickered at. Overall I think it is a lovely portrait of the artist. It is, of course, a body language piece and you have done a good job of zeroing in on the subtle and sexy moments of her movements, but the shot that I don't like is the one where she points at the camera. (is this a new shot?) For me it comes across as a bit *cheesy* - therefore I suggest taking it out.
There is much to complement about the video. I especially like the shots that appear to be shot through a glass of water. (how did you do that?) I like the way the water shots coincide with the keyboard breaks that sound like they are underwater.....

Hi,
You must have entered this film in the NOMOS Festival, because just yesterday I clicked on "Lisa Lindal" when going through the next batch of movies entered into the festival. And that's the same clip!
My feedback: I have screened 24 films up to now to make a first comparison amongst the entries, next step is to give each entry my marks. Your movie outperforms all the other 23 up to now.
I like the music, the quality of the close ups, the way "Lisa Lindal" moves. All in all a very nice music clip. There is one short shot in which you zoom in and defocus on a bulb, the zoom-in is a bit chunky. May be you do not need that shot al all.

thank you all.
the nomos clip is a previous version. 90% the same but without cc and fine tuning of the edits. perhaps that zoom looks better in the final version?
i like the pointing shot. it's a nice break of the fourth wall, letting us know that after all this is just a music performance. it sums up the irony that's present in all of lisa's music.
the "underwater" shots are through a spinning mirrorball. my director's trademark for videos. since they never say who made a video on tv i thought i'd add a subtle signature to everything. that same mirrorball is in all the three videos i made this year. ;-)

Unfortunately, I can't view the whole clip. When downloading, it indicates 100% but only the first half of the clip is played. When the half way mark is reached upon playback, it immediately stops and then starts again right from the beginning and stops again at the half way mark. Ive downloaded it a few times with the same result. It does look impressive so far though, judging from the first half.
