Nice.

I have the Angenieux 8-64 lens. In manual mode, when I move the aperture ring, should I hear the gears turning in the lens control unit? Isn't there supposed to be some sort of clutch to prevent stripping the gears?
There may be some sort of slip-clutch for when/if you crank that little ring around real fast like. I'll bet you couldn't strip the teeth off those gears if you tried...
Tom Doolittle wrote:Works great in auto mode, but who uses auto?
In that case, and if you don't use auto-zoom [that's the other motor, isn't it?], then you can take those motors right offa there - a little less front-heavy, and looks way cooler.
Tom Doolittle wrote:Sorry for the dumb question. I checked the manual but there was no clear answer.
I didn't think the question was dumb. I will say that if the manual doesn't mention it, it likely isn't a "mechanical safety" issue.
