What camera?

Post by ad »

Hi all

First post for me on this excellent looking forum..... :D

I've been borrowing a friend's canon 514 to shoot a few reels and it's been going really well: so far, so good. so i'm now looking to get my own camera and start to push this on a little bit. i am friends with lots of musicians, bands etc and i am looking to shoot some videos for them, just quick, hopefully instinctive shorts that the bands can put up on their websites/myspace/youtube etc etc. i am trying not to get too carried away with it all, but i would like a camera that has the feature set i would like and is good enough to stay with me if i do progress in this field.

so, here's my two (very real) options:

NIZO 561 macro
NIZO 4060

and here's my question:

I think both camera's match my requirements feature-wise, so what advantages would paying almost three times the money (for the 4060) get me? reliability/build quality? image quality (if so, to what extent)? manual controls? low light ability? Does it have 'pro-features' that i may not know about?

I don't mind paying the money if it's worth it, so i'll gratefully listen to any opinions you may have.

Thanks in advance, ad.

Did you mean the

Nizo 561 macro
Nizo 4056 ?

To start the 4056 records sound. This model should also run a bit quiter, being a sound model. (but they no longer make sound film)
The 561 macro has auto and manual B settings, variable shutter and is smaller.

I would go for the 561.
In fact I have a 561 marco and it's a great camera!

To compare the cameras check out this site,
http://www.merzbarn.com/Specification_c ... _chart.htm

http://www.merzbarn.com also sells nizo camers.

Perhaps we could also offer more advice if you told us what you want from a camera? Which features are most important to you?
