Beaulieu 4008 ZM with PL-Mount?

Post by andredigital »

Hello schmalfilmer!

Has anybody of you experience working with an PL-Mount to C-mount adapter mounted on a Beaulieu 4008 to use PL-mount primes?
Does it work? I think because of the backfocus it is not working, but i am not sure.

greetings,
André

If the camera is working properly and the adaptor is correctly mounted then yes. It should work.

Good Luck

But i think you have to change the back focus on the camera + PL-Mount Adapter by a camera technician and the camera is no longer usable for c-mount, right?

No...

That is why the adaptor has so much depth.

If I had a set of super nice primes I would want to use them on as many cameras as I could.

I think iit is overkill but if you are on a set and have them sitting next to you why not pick them up and shoot some S8??

Don't buy lenses.

Good Luck
PS--If you see an Aaton to C-Mount let me know. I will buy it.

Hi,

PL-Mount flange focal depth is 52mm
C-Mount flange focal depth is 17,53mm
Adapter PL to C-Mount must be 32,47mm deep

...maybe

Wht don't you just get the primes in B-Mount??

Then you don't have to worry about the new adaptor. Every rental house that I have had them from has asked if I want them in B or PL.

Good Luck

Hello,

Here you have a picture of the Pro8 Classic camera with a PL to C Mount adapter. We used that with Ultra Prime and Zeiss HS optics. Great resolution but as the optics were not colimated for that configuration, focus was really critical and was done only by eye.
