my last rolls of k40
so, here's a first clip from the music video i shot with my last rolls of k40. thanks to kent for a great scan job yesterday. always a pleasure. shot on a canon 814e and the sync held up almost perfectly as usual. the jumping frameline in the beginning is just how the flashscan handles the kodak leader splice.

Nice, but something's wrong with the audio - atleast on my side. It's like you listen to something that goes fast forward on a CD player.

Hello,
i like the light in her face very much! Superb telecine!
Also interesting is the light circle on the bottom of the frame (left side) which comes from the next frame (i think).
Was it a risk to shoot with this direct beam of light into the lens or do you made some tests before?

thank you.
yes, i took a big risk, that was the point. :-) i wanted to physically destroy the film as well (see previous post) but i didn't have time. i just ran it through my viewer a bunch of times to scratch it a little and add some dust. i also wanted it to flare more than it did actually. the coating on the 814e is just too "good". maybe i should have used the autozoom instead. it produces flares that look computer generated, with those green, magenta and white circles, but unfortunately it doesn't run in sync.
no pressure plate. i'm not sure what you mean by the leader effect but it wasn't planned. nothing was.
no pressure plate. my canon has always been quite steady and edge to edge sharp even without it.
here's a clip with some more flare, diffusion and loss of focus, the style i'm building the video around:

re the bad movie atom, i get that once in a while with quicktime downloads, but not in this case so i'm not sure why you are. as a precaution i've now uploaded new versions that have been flattened with a tool designed specifically to produce internet downloadable platform independent movies. let's hope for the best.

Looks great. Even 'messed up' it still looks pretty clean IMO ;) Did you double the shooting with 16mm or something in case the K40 didn't come out well or was destroyed?

Looks great. Love the lighting and lack of grain on the first clip.

...streamed it with a left click on PC laptop wireless currently delivering 11mbps and streamed instantly.
Looks beautiful and very filmic from here. I love this kind of cover girl photography. Nice eye lights and lip gloss.
The transfer is cool to. I like the way the image moves around and the sprocket holes creep up into the frame. The sound-sync is amazing. I bet she will love this.. nice work.
