Light comes thru viewfinder during timelaps shooting?

Post by YOSUKE »

I have shot timelaps (sunrising)..for 3 hours right now..

But I forgot to close viewfinder(canon 1014 xl-s).

I wonder what situation make light come into camera thru viewfinder.

Thanks..

if the sun is at the back of the camera, there may be a problem...

Generally, when I have run remote eumig nautica setups and forgot to close the rear viewfinder, the footage has always looked great.

Just use some black tape and stick on the eyepiece once you get setup.

Doesn't it depend if it is split prism reflex viewing or not? (which I don't know if the Canon is). I thought if it's split prism reflex viewing you need to close the viewfinder, or keep your eye against it, or it can fog your film.
