Beaulieu and Ewa Matte-Box

Post by EtiN »

Hello,

I've browse the forum but couldn't find the info : are the Beaulieu 6008 compatible with Ewa matte-boxes (aka compendium) ? I guess the ewa compendium was build before the 6008 and therefore nothing is precised in the instructions.

Yes it is. I use it on my 7008s.

You have to fiddle about a lot in the beginning to make it properly fit and get out of the way from switches and stuff.

Yep, the 2008 is a lot different from the one you asked for. But here's still one example of how a Ewa mattebox can be mounted on a Beaulieu.
This Ewa was made for 35mm still cameras, it differs a bit from the SK-8 version, but the idea is similar.

Hope it helps,
Mikael.

Hi there,

an Ewa or Goedeke mattebox can certainly be adapted to the Beaulieu 6/7/9008 series , although with some fiddling, as you can see from my own rig.
I believe Goedeke made a special version with the correct adapters at some point, but I've never seen one in the flesh, just remember seeing it in an old schmalfilm ad..

Regards,
Alex
