Where to have film developed

Post by Tron X »

I live in Pennsylvania. I've just finished shooting 4 carts of super 8 on a Minolta Autopak D-4 camera. Two carts of Ekta 64T and two carts of Plus-X.

Where should I have the film processed? I'd like a good quality lab that's not extreemly expensive and that has a quick turn around. (Does that exist?)

Also, any suggestions for a projector (silent or whatever) that can project in 18fps and 24 fps. Right now I'm shooting in 18 fps but I'd like to option of projecting 24 fps too.

(On a side note does anyone know a good regular 8 projector I could buy to watch my gramdpa's old movies?)

Sadly, the Kodak lab directory doesn't list anyone in PA.

Check out Cinelab in MA. Their turnaround is speedy, and their prices aren't crazy. You can get a cheap Rank transfer from them at the same time.

I recently mailed some E-6, b&w reversal and ECN to Forde/Alpha Cine, and what I saw came out fine. Film & Video Services in Mpls processes b&w reversal and sends out E-6. Colorlab in Maryland may handle it all, too.

It is possible to get a dual gague projector that will run variable speeds from 16fps to 30fps....both super 8 and reg 8.

Picture quality may not be quite as good as a dedicated reg 8 projector on the older film but will be prefectly acceptable....I own a Fujiscascope M32 (I think that's the number!) and it works fine.

Best reg 8 projection I ever saw was from a Eumig P8.
The government says that by 2010 30% of us will be fat....I am merely a trendsetter :)

What about Pac-Lab or A1-Film Lab in New York?
Both are fast & pretty affordable.
