I think the strength of Silence is that little set you had to work with.

The problem with the other films is that there is a bit too much aimless wandering about and the story-lines seem a bit loose/random.

Still, impressive stuff, you obviously relish production design and the details of your films. Im looking forward to your new one. Hopefully you will put the film or trailer on your website?

...well - Silence is my favorite short, but that said, what I really like about this collection of films is the way that they all tie together with themes of estrangement, survival, corporeal disintigration; the human body being reclaimed by nature and all of that... All great themes in my opinion..

This is very interesting feedback - I had suspected the opposite, that the small set basically paralyzed any narrative (which was not undesired or unintentional), and I would have thought that Silence was the least specific in terms of the story. At least, I hoped it was.

I agree that the pacing could probably be tightened up on some of them (not really Taco). This is partially due to watching on a small screen sitting in front of a computer. The 'audience rhythm' at a large screening is much faster than my internal clock at 2 AM when I'm editing. I'm intentionally making the editing somewhat quicker on my current film.

There will definitely be a trailer on my site. I don't like to cut trailers until most of the editing is finished, and I'm waiting on the last bit of footage back from the lab. Production design and operating the camera are my favorite parts ;)

I liked your DVD. I think the films got better as they went. The earlier films were somewhat incomprehensible to me, but interesting. The discarded body was my favourite film, and I think your next short looks even better. Looking forward to 06-07

Yes, great set, I loved the computer power suppy in the upper right of the control panel and the fact that it showed up in another of the films too. He's got talent. Once I get down south I may make a run down to Gainsville and look him up sometime.

Seizon is basically finished. The DVD went to Sundance today, anyway. A 'retail' version mastered from 10-bit uncompressed footage will be available at some point. I will try to get some new frame grabs on my site.

Some of the best times I have had involved an M1A, Georgia Moon and Gators(Not the University) just outside of Flamingo. Let alone the Bonefish we caught.

We really do need to meet up one of these days...

That sounds a lot like my high school years in the deep south in the early 60s but Id never be able to keep up with you these days. It would be fun to show you around and to take a boat up the Flint though. Things have a way of working out so I expect it to happen b4 its all over...

Always need time to wind down after late night emergencies, so I took the time to watch your collected works DVD last night. I liked the Seizon trailer on the DVD. Very interesting clip. Looking forward to the seeing final film. Was watching the shorts, seemed to be quite a bit of walking going on in survivor record, but the images were excellent. Of all the shorts, I liked the filming done in The Discarded Body. Taco was amusing. Silence was well done. Epitaph was interesting, you got that estes on film.
