But I've mangaged more than one website that had to remove all text-based email references because of the spambot activity. It's a real nuisance, no bullsh!t.

Me too. Just back from south Georgia where I had a chance to view the Collected Works. For some reason I wasnt able to get the commentary working so will have to reserve that for next trip since I just got back to the studio here in Tennessee about an hour ago.

Thanks Evan. Good work. Did you shoot any of the 16mm with your Filmo???

Cameras used:

Taco - Bolex 280 Macrozoom
Survival Record - Nikon R10 and Nizo S560
Silence - Bolex H16 Supreme non-reflex
Epitaph - R10
The Discarded Body - grey Scoopic

So no, I haven't had an occasion to use the Filmo, since for non-reflex 16mm work I feel more comfortable with the Bolex. The Filmo is a nice display piece and I could probably modify it to S16 without too much trouble.

My current film, Seizon, is being shot on a Kinor but about 30 seconds are in super 8 (!) shot on the R10. We'll see how well they cut together once I get a Rank transfer.

We shot 16mm for a country music video in the mid 80s on a Bolex H-16. One of my favorite cameras.

The video was called, The Night Porter Wagoner Came To Town and it played big on CMT and TNN. I need to put it on the web I guess. That was over 20 years ago.

The Bolex gave us very impressive results. We transferred it to 1" video and edited it at Jerry Reed's post room to 3/4 Umatic SP. Those were the days.

The film technology hasn't changed, only the video part of it. Interesting.

Van Halen did a video, "Jump", in the 80's with a Bolex. Total cost: about $200. At the same time, Michael Jackson did a bigtime video for about $1 million. Guess which one got more airplay?

If you're referring to Jackson's Thriller it supported the biggest selling album of all time as far as I know.

Jeez Evan I can't believe how much you keep cranking out all these shorts and I've barely can't survive making one due to money and scheduling. I would love to see your newer stuff though shot on the kinor, best of luck!

Has anyone found the easter egg? It contains footage shot with the Kinor. I guess you could also use a computer and look through the VOB files until you stumble on it. There aren't that many.

OK, I liked Silence best. Not because it reminded me of some of the experimental televison from the 60s (which was probably shot on small gauge film) but it did remind me of that perid.
