This is from the HBO site--It's a boxing promo--I haven't really figured out if they shot it with 35mm or video with effects added later in editing.
Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks guys.
Is this film or video with effects--->>>

Film and Video maybe? I see a few shots that look like film. The first slow mo shot of him walking towards camera has filmish grain but I suppose it could be a post processing filter. In fact I'd say that the whole thing has been filtered and cleaned up digitaly.
The grain is what makes me think film, but seeing grain that big on a frame this small would mean that a smaller format was used or it was filtered in during post..... Anyone else?

I think it looks like video because of the whites. If you look at the ropes behind Jermain as he's talking they're really washed out, which is a common charictaristic of video. There were a couple of b/w shots that looked like super 8 or 16, but everything else looked as if it were effected HDV. Besides, why would they spend the money on 35mm for a two minute fight promo?
I'd say video mainly for this reason: The "flash frames" look added in post. Normally when you get that effect with film (from turning the camera off and on) the image speeds up as the camera slows down. That doesn't happen in this clip which leads me to believe that they intentionally tried to fool the viewer into believing it was film.
