Beaulieu service in Toronto

Post by Mitch Perkins »

Friend of mine needs service for a Beaulieu 4008. It's not advancing the film consistently. I could have a look at it, and may still, but was wondering if anyone here had good experience with Beaulieu repairs in Toronto.
Now I'm going to call Cineasst...

I would be surprised if Cineasst would work on it but you never know...

If they do let us know.

Good Luck

I've had a man named Daniel work on my beaulieu and my bolexes in the past, you could try him out. I think he's a lens repair guy at clairmont. He's in Toronto.

Never responded to my phone message. Perhaps the dissertation on badger life was inappropriate...

Thanks Justin. The camera is being delivered tomorrow. If I can't find what ails it, I'll surely give your man a call.

I think he has a copy of the beaulieu service manual, maybe he would lend it to you...? Just be nice about your wording, and you never know.

beaulieu 4008 ZMII repair..?

Post by dagman »

My Beaulieu 4008 ZMII's film advancing and shutter mechanism are not working (the lens is still behaving as it should). Does this sound like a job for Daniel? I'm in Canada at the moment... kinda urgent matter.

I'm in Dawson City, Yukon at an artists residency... and am a guest of the Dawson City Int. Short Film Festival.

I'll be heading to Toronto in mid-April, after screenings in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver... what did you have in mind? Drop me an email/pm...

This is right across the border. Why go anywhere else? Superb. And reasonable. The best.

Thanks, for the USA link... would I have to pay tax/duty in or out of the USA, shipping the damaged camera from Canada?

PM me when you are close to Toronto-time. I'd say "let's go for a beer". Had a couple pints with Woods01 in Vancouver this past December and it was good to have a face-to-face chat with a forum member. I'd like to meet up with anyone from the Forum who passes through Toronto.

Oh cool. Which reminds me, did you get my likely erratic and rambling phone call pitch to see my friend Leah perform?

I did but it was not clear who left it. I thought it was someone else.
Give me the details again.

Ok (and for anyone else in Toronto)

A friend of mine, Leah, is in the Totonto production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I know it was running this weekend, don't know if it's continuing or not. But, I wanted to give her some moral support since I couldn't be there, plus give everyone else a chance to see a very talented young actress friend of mine. However it appears that tonight was her last showing, but who knows, if they have another encore I'll let everyone know.

Sorry if I was a bit too erratic, I was trying to remember everyone to call.
