Best to go a step further yet. Check the seller's feedback separated by what other buyers had to say, and what other sellers had to say (where he was the buyer). When encountering neutral or negative feedback, check out the person who left it, and determine how our friend handled it/responded to it.

Yeah, its always worth remembering that some buyers are all to quick to leave negative feedback or are just plain unreasonable...that has happened on three occasions to me.
My personal view is that where somebody has lots of feedback and 99% or more is positive, I am totally prepared to trust them. With a seller who has little feedback it is more difficult and any negative feedback really must be checked out.
