Call for concrete suggestions re: super 8 society

This isnt the only org Ive founded or co-founded but this is the only time Ive run into resistance for my simple ideas.

Well, this is the Internet, after all. Where else can we be as abrasive and self-indulgent as we wannabe without fear of retribution?

A S8 society sounds like a good idea to me, but let's not divert too many energies from the already established websites, magazines and vendors that are already competing for attention in this tiny world.

We wouldn't be cannibalizing the established market, in fact our objective is to widen it by aggressive, efficient PR, educating, and networking. There might be others trying it but most seem less organized and less aggressive.

Remember, the idea would be to take it beyond the currently tiny world to the big one out there. It is in no way a competition to this forum, which is for the converted, so to speak.

Looks like Flatwood is the only one who's done anything concrete so far. A simple enough next step might be to simply list the facts on the website. Super 8 resolution, texture, current usage etc...whet the appetites of those who wouldn't know otherwise.
Then link the site to as many currently un-related places as possible. My gal just did this for Photoplays. She's willing to help the S8S too.

Re: the logo. I like mine (E) the best because its black, graphic, and it includes Super8/Single8/Standard8 whcih I think is more inclusive than just making the "society" about Super 8. BUT, it was pointed out that the group is already named the "Super 8 Society" so that point is done. And it was also noted that its redundant/innapropriate to call Single 8 and Standard 8 "S8." Or something like that was said. That given, if the "Super8/Single8/Standard8" is removed from mine, I don't like it anymore.

So my next choices would be C, G, or H. I agree with Roger about the graphic quality of H, but I hate the backwards "S"--it seems retarded and reminds me of Toys 'R' Us with the backwards "R." H is also great except that I think I've seen that yellow graphic camera used somewhere else. But I'm not sure. That leaves C, which is my final vote. It's got an interesting font and will look good on t-shirts etc. And I'm really into orange right now for some reason.

It's funny but Im getting to where I cant make up my mind about it. I like them all.

Theres no reason that we cant promote the other 8mm formats if we want to. It's all good to me. Like I said earlier, I dont make much of a member of anything but I try to do unto others.

I repeat, whatever happened to that black and yellow logo #11 aka logo K? I don't think it looked like that from that other site we were linked to, and others that still are on that list look much more like that one someone was afraid we'd plagiarized. So, whatever happened to that one?
