I just want you to know how pleased I am with Kodak Spain's attitude towards the faulty Super 8 cartridges issue. I contacted them through e-mail a few days ago: I informed them of this known problem and requested a solution for a batch of old (possibly affected) cartridges exp. 4/2003 I bought in December 2001. I had exposed just one K40 cartridge of the lot and it came out faulty so I decided not to use the rest (K40 and Ektachrome). Kodak replied me fast and they agreed this problem existed, gave me their best excuses, congratulated me for being still using Super 8 film and sent to me (the next day!) a box with the number of cartridges I mentioned I had purchased plus 3 complimentary cartridges! They didn't need the old ones as "the fabrication fault has been publicly recogniced by Kodak and the cartridges are useless for them"... They just trusted me. So, at least here in Spain, this reaction shows Kodak wants happy Super 8 customers. An additional comment: Don't know if it is usual, but the gentlemen who solved my problem belonged to the Proffesional Movie Divission.
This is my expierience with Kodak Germany, too. Only that they asked me to send them the old carts. But this had been in springtime, when the problem was "fresh". And I always got some bonus rolls of film from them!
