I bought my first Nizo, a 48-2 from Merzbarn dot com a little more than four years ago. I paid the princely sum of £150.
On eBay at the time, a Nizo 800 would fetch regularly around £200 and the mighty 801m would nearly always fetch over £200. The Nizo Professional would go for between £275 and £350 - and £350 would be what you would expect to pay for the 801m Trickset.
You'd be hard pushed to find a 800 or 801 macro going for more than a few beans over £100 these days, if that...
These were just the silent cameras. To set your sights on one of the sound cameras 2056, 4080, 6080 etc would mean selling many precious things just to make up half the asking price.
Is it solely due to the downfall of K40, the compatibility with 64T and the rise of Negative stocks that has killed these prices???
The high numbered Nizo's now regularly fetch well below what I paid for my 48-2. The 40** and 60**'s accommodate any Super 8 stock up to 640 ASA, that includes the new 64T and the Vision stocks......
I know that eBay is not the best place to buy a Super 8 camera, as so many dead ones have been up for sale, and I've been stung a couple times in the past.... I have a beautiful almost shop new 4080, that lights up - light meter razor sharp - however I can't get the motor to run.... sob

I had to sell some of my precious beauties last summer to get me out of a tight financial spot. I had used everyone one of them too, either for coverage on a shoot, just for fun, or just for making memories with.
I would be heartbroken if I found myself having to resort to sell the last couple of fine examples I have for a few quid compared to what I got last summer... ho, hum...
Some might say that the Canon 814xl-s and 1014xl-s are mightier but, I've used them too, and they are truly wonderful and I guess Just wanted to say that there will always be a place in my heart for the mighty Nizos, whatever they are worth.
Nothing really profound, just wondering if anyone else had some thoughts on this???
Andersens Tears are gently rolling.....
