Now why on earth would you want to ruin such beautiful B+W by shooting color also? 8)

I for one like the look of B+W negative. It has more lattitude and less contrast than reversal and can make for some very intersting images. Of course, I love reversal B+W also... I dare say the shot of the soldier crawling through the grass is much better shot on negative than it would have looked on reversal.

hey Evan, looks really good.....that smoke effect seemed to work like a charm!
I gotta say....your stuff lately is looking a lot better than Taco. No offense, but that wasn't my favorite. This is looking really good though.
One comment on the foley. The grunt sound right at the end sounds a little too fake. Did you actually record that or was it a grunt sound effect you got off the web or cd or someplace? In any event, keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing it when it's done.
What ever happened to that other film you were making, with the pilot and the sci-fi theme? Is it completed? If so, are you going to put in on the web for us?

All the sound in the clip was originated by me. The grass rustling and grunting was recorded on location so the ambience, etc should be accurate. The mix might be a little too "up front". If it sounds fake other than that blame the actor ;) I had him run a few hundred yards to get him out of breath but it didn't work too well and he admitted to faking.

"Silence" was finished in October of last year... I did another space film on S8 that was finished in December or January this year. Both will be available on my DVD.

Mark me down for your dvd - I'm dying of curiousity! Out of interest, what's the size of our crew? Is that you as the soldier?? if so, who's shooting?

The crew on that day was two - me, holding the camera, and my friend to light the smoke 'bombs.' No, I have no intention of appearing in the film.
