Elmo 8-TL Battery

Post by hellesdonfilms »

I'm trying to find a replacement light meter battery for my Elmo 8-TL.

The original was a mercury 3.9v TH3MC or TR-113R.

But these are no longer available and Wein don't to an equivelent.

Does anyone have an Elmo 8-TL? If so what do you use?

Thanks

Hi,
I use three PX625 (PX13) batteries, fixed together with some tape + a 1cent coin on the top. Works fantastic. The old batterie wasn`t anything else, open it and you will find 3 PX 625 wired together.

doesn't the increased voltage effect the meter reading?

Hi,
The original batterie did`nt have 3,9 Volt.
As I wrote before, the original batterie for the Elmo 8tl was nothing else than 3 wired PX 625. I have one used here, it says: 4,05 Volt. One PX 625 has 1,35. 3x 1,35 = 4,05 Volts.

Use it, everything works perfect.

A A25PX from the small battery company works fine as well.

sorry, didn't mean to doubt you it's just the manual that came with my camera says 3.9v and so does the old battery that was in it.

but thanks for you help i will try what you say.

by the way what results do you get with the 8-tl, it looks a fantastic camera, i've never seen one with so many features.
