Since my projector died, I have gone "digital" -- I get v200t transfers to digital beta at the FSpot in Seatle.
The quality is superb.
But don't let anyone tell you SD video is all there is on the super 8 frame--and I am not even talking color rendition and lattitude. I took a strip of well exposed v200t under a microscope in my lab and believe it or not all kind of detail popped up, well beyond the 720x486 capture frames.
It is kind of pointless, but if there is interest I will run the VTR that is hooked to the microscope and capture a (very) partial frame.
I also have a nagging suspision that a lot of the "grain" is telecine video noise, but whay do I know, I am just getting started with digitized film.

I was always wondering how a film frame would look under a decent microscope.
It would be even more interesting if you could show us the same frame both transfered at FSpot and with the microscope.

*bump!*
Let's show it to those sc*mb*gs thinking all that would be in a S8 frame would be 320*240! Go friggin' way beyond SD! Heck, we've seen before there is enough for 2k in those petty eight millimeters!
