Hi, I have a Quarz-zoom ds8-3 camera that I acquired a few months ago in Prague. This camera only accepts spools, not cartridges. I was, however, unable to bring any film back with me. Is there any way I can acquire and develop film in America for it? I would REALLY appreciate any response, because I just saw the only six minutes of footage I was ever able to film and develop, and it really made me regret not taking a greater advantage of what was available for me in the Czech Republic. I also apologize if a topic of this post was already addressed in this forum, but I was unable to locate it. Anyway, thanks!
Tom

An even cheaper place to get Foma in 100' loads is here:
http://www.chamblesscineequip.com/catalog/catalog.htm
Price is US$15 for 100'. I use these and wind off 3x10m rolls for my Quarz3 in a change bag.

I think of the little spools as being 10m or 33' in capacity. When winding off in a change bag, I keep winding until the spool is almost full to maximum. After doing it a few times you get a sense of how much to put on. On occasion I have had a few feet left on the 100' spool that I couldn't fit. It depends also on how acurately the 100' spool was filled. After loading I then wind the meter counter on my DS8-3 onto 10meters.
The real issue with these cameras is knowing when the side is finished. If I am doing something important, I often stop what I am doing at about the 9.5 meter mark and just shoot off the last bit on anything letting the counter run past 10meters (0 meters). With this camera I also check the film is actually transporting every once in a while using a change bag.
