How does the 310 XL reads the 64T ?

Post by Nitschtskt »

Hello,

I would just like to know how the Canon 310 XL recognises the 64T. Some sources say the camera reads it as an 160 ASA and others say as an 40 ASA.
I would shoot a test film, but I do not have the time at all.

Please answer, I beg of you!

It will read the E64T cart as 160T.

I just tried 4 carts in a Canon 310XL, the position of the switches in the film chamber is such that:

K40 T cart: 2 switches pressed

E64 T cart: 1 switch pressed
E160 T cart: 1 switch pressed

E160G cart (daylight): 0 switches pressed

You may want to try the new 50 ASA Fuji Velvia reversal film from Spectra. It is slotted for 40ASA and will expose properly in a Canon 310 without need for modification. Plus, the Velvia clearly out-performs the 64T. Check it out: viewtopic.php?t=13671&sid=a309eef13616a ... 34512d8d5e
