That is my Nikon Super 8 Zoom. But I don't have a babe like HER! That is what we need in our super 8 movies, good looking models, bright colors of clothing, or, in this case, the lack of it..
I particularly like your #4.
Let's film our own advertisements regarding Super 8mm. My church is on TV for free.

Chairman of The Board? Hmmm. Nah. I'll serve as an adviser? No, that's not part of Robert's Rules of Order, which is the THE way these things are run... How about, membership chairman? I'll keep track of who joins. Robert's Rules of Order? That is what we used. I had to write the bylaws and have them approved by the local board of education / superintendent. Got a lawyer? Get that S8S domain nailed down; is it even available? Try http://www.pair.com they host mine: studiocarter.com.
Votes on my being membership chair? All in favor? How do we do those vote things on this forum?

This could work. If I get voted in send me your email. I'll make a membership application. We need a treasurer with Paypal. Membership in a local Art Club is $25 a year. I didn't join because they still use paper only for the newsletter and since I make films I don't paint anymore.

Sure, I dont volunteer myself lightly. I will be scarce the next few days however. Im the founder of the Nashville Folk Festival and the event starts today in Nashville and Im going to be the MC starting around 3pm central US time. I have one roll of K40 left so I will be dragging my 1014e out there tomorrow.

We'll need LC to check in. He's a fine logoist. We've got a good tee shirt machine in place now because of the PTC project

Ok, its safely registered and sitting in my account at go-daddy.

S8S. Reminds me of the super friends on South Park. Gotta head to the city and the folk festival. Ive never been a MC before but my friend who's been doing it for years had to bow out because he's dying and I didnt want anyone else filling in for him. He helped me start the project some years back when we were doing it in a meadow on a home made stage behind the studio building.

Theres something about helping worthwhileness get off the ground that's pleasantly satisfying for some reason. My mom says I would have made a good farmer which I consider a high compliment.

For whatever its worth, the url, is registered and will probably be available for use very soon. Consider it my contribution to the process. If nothing happens with it, the monetary output for this was minimal, $9.20. I'll spend that much today on fuel.

Holey smoke. Im just back from the festival. Well, some wicked tornados came through the local area and killed 8 people. Needless to say, it was a different sort of afternoon. I didnt have a super 8 with me, I was planning to take it tomorrow.

I'm really busy right now with various projects, but I did want to throw my support behind this. And give a shout to Mitch, studiocarter, and especially flatwood for the work already done.

Hopefully I'll get some free time in the coming weeks and can help out with some of the tasks that are sure to arise. But for now, count me in as a dues-paying member. Sign me up!

And sorry flatwood about the festival--was just listening to NPR and heard the report about the storms and the folks who lost their lives. Hope things get back to normal.

A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming.
Like a new Super 8mm movie.
We had a tornado warning all afternoon but none appeared, however, I was almost blown off my porch as I watched the skys. The leaves all lifted off the ground; then they moved to the left, they suddenly changed direction and WHAM something broke two doors down the street and a sudden powerful wind sent me into the house straight away. We have a lot of very large trees here and I have seen them fall on houses and power lines.

Thanks for the offer to join this org.; I'll get started on a membership list. However, we need a Pres, Sec, Tres, VP, etc. AND a ByLaws committee.

Please send me your vitals: Name, address, e-mail, phone, etc by e-mail to michael@studiocarter.com if you want to join super8society as a dues paying member and work at promoting Super 8mm filmmaking. Since there are so few of us we all need to do something at this point. Don't make me dig for it in profiles, PMs, webs or old posts. I'll save that for the membership committee to find new members and make cold calls :P

It's coming clear to me that one of the things that S8S can do is raise awareness of the films shot on S8 and available on dvd.

StudioCarter, Ill get my info to you soon. We're trying to get moved so are in two places at once right now.

Ahhh, that will be nice. You will be the first.

Yes, it would be nice to go to one place and buy all the Super 8mm movies you want.

I do not wish to join now, but I don't rule out doing so in the future.

If you think it's a good idea to have an "official magazine" for the association where it could publish important discussions and meetings, small format would love to be this publication.

I seem to recall it being hard work to get members of this forum to subscribe to a magazine let alone form a society to promote Super 8.
