Sometimes the modern 1.5V replacement works fine, other times a camera's exposure system is confused by the increase in voltage and won't work.

You could try using new 1.5V cells and see if you get decent results.

and if lightmeter wont work with batteries, check if you winded up spring, because otherwise, lightmeter is dead.

I sell PX625 replacement batteries (Wein Cell) on ebay. I don't think you mentioned the size that you needed, but maybe this will work.

it says on the original east german batteries that are still in the camera "PX 13" so I guess I give your ebay offer a shot.
