I've heard that Speilberg is planning a live action Transformers movie. Not animated but I expect that, if we ever see it, the robots will be CGI.

Wow, that's awesome.

While Spielberg is producing the Transformers movie, the Japanese are actually making them. I guess we'll see a life-size transformer within our lifetime.

Ralph, Roger's link is in fact a real ancestor of the fictitious being from your link. They don't oppose each other, Roger's link supports what we see in yours instead.

Booster, I think I saw that robot from your link on TV, it was shown in a Japanese lab, walking up stairs all by itself. Though they played a little visual trick, they only showed the robot so you automatically assumed it was as tall as a human.
