Ralph, Roger's link is in fact a real ancestor of the fictitious being from your link. They don't oppose each other, Roger's link supports what we see in yours instead.
Booster, I think I saw that robot from your link on TV, it was shown in a Japanese lab, walking up stairs all by itself. Though they played a little visual trick, they only showed the robot so you automatically assumed it was as tall as a human.
