Finished my 30 seconds. I will quickly dispatch the cart to etimh in sunny L.A. tomorrow morning (I would do it today, but by the time my camera warms up, the post office will be closed

Got my cart today. I had to pay $11 COD customs duties and taxes! ANybody else get stuck with this. I think it's a bit of a lottery: sometimes customs adds charges, sometimes they don't. It gets triggered by attaching a value to the shipment. When I shoot and send it on I am going to say "Commercial value: 0" "Cultural exchange" etc. I suggest everyone else do the same.

I'll shoot as soon as I can. Actually hoping for a rainy night to get those city lights reflected off the rain-soaked roads. I am also shooting another short Sunday so it's a busy time. I'll do my best in moving it along.

On the US form theres a check box for "Commercial Sample".

By the way Sooper8fan, I don't know if you plan to play off of what I do or just do your own thing, but if you look at my avatar my stuff will probably look something like that, though I'll try for something with a few more lights (hopefully from rain-soaked streets). When you shoot motion pictures of light sources with a shutterless camera the lights twist and pulse - the camera "reads" the cycles. I am also into this thing where I shake the camera intensely at 12 fps such that I can literally draw a circle within a single frame.

In other words, my ten feet is going to be very colourful and frenetic and abstract with lots of flash frames (unavoidable every time I stop).

Just a warning. I'll give a heads up when it's being posted to you.

We are pretty much free to do whatever strikes our fancy, right? Mine might be a little, uh, "abstract" as well.

But I think that everyone should just do their own thing, regardless of what others might be considering in terms of subject, style, etc.

The beauty and wonder of the project is going to be in the collision and incongruity of each section, I think. We'll see. 8O
