Kodak Direct Film Prices

Post by johnnhud »

Just got off the phone with Kodak. Here are the latest prices for Direct Purchase. Films ship same day. (Sorry if this is redundant)

Kodak Ordering:

1-800-621-3456

NEGATIVE
V2 200T
V2 500T.......15.15 per roll

REVERSAL - COLOR
Ektachrome 64T....14.00 per roll

REVERSAL - B&W
Plus-X
Tri-X.......10.59 per roll

So with B&W reversals starting at just $10.59 per roll, whats to keep us from shooting more?

maybe processing? :(

My cousin has a student ID and gets me a 30% discount on those. So my only excuse is not being in America right this moment. I should have stocked up before traveling to Brasil...

I do wish you had asked if they had any Kodachrome 40 left over :P

Student ID prices = 30% off? That means that with a student ID, you could get...

Color Negative = 10.61
Etchachrome 64T = 9.80
Black & White = 7.41

I'm definitely putting in an order. I got the student discount, but you need a credit card right?

Anyone got any idea as to how to order direct from Kodak in Europe? Any idea of the prices? After all most of these films are actually made or finished in France!

Actually I might not shoot it in Super 8. This is because I pretty much committed to Single-8 due to frame registration issues with Super 8 among other things. But I confess it would rock to shoot in Super-8 at those prices, especially if I also got student discount in processing.

Single 8 filmstock: $16
Processing: $10

There are no discounts with Single 8 and no negative to work with, those are the cons.

Wow! 30% student discounts from kodak? I always thought it was only around 20%, which isn't bad, but 30% is sweet.

um, call them? that's what i always do. in sweden they don't officialy sell it direct, but somebody has to stock it and sell to resellers so it's available. start with the yellow pages.

If you pick up the film at Kodak Burbank and pay with cash you get an extra 2% discount. Imagine, I pay $12.63 for a 100 ft. roll of wonderful 16mm Plus X negative for my Scoopic MS. It's great to live an hour away from Hollywood! It's sick how many movie film developing labs are around here. RGB lab processes 16mm color negative for 10 cents a foot! That's $10 for a 100 ft roll!!!! California rocks!!!!!! :D

What's the original price? Tri-X 7266 (16mm) was around $14.50 for me before tax, even after a 30% student discount. The negative is much cheaper, I guess...

Maybe that's why they are now out of business. I hear they lost their lease and couldn't afford a more expensive place. Or something similar.
