It's Jam. I am so excited & happy that you share this idea to everyone.

I am asking your permision of introducing it in my super8mm workshop of Hong Kong Arts Centre.

I also like to spread the name (Toilet Auto Shutter) as TAS timer, among HK and Japanese people, at the same time I will tell people your fun story of how you found this idea.

Waiting for your reply!!

Best
Jam
Dear Jam,
You can have my permission to introducing it in your workshop ONLY if you let me join in. I emailed my form today morning. I can bring it with me as well!

Such a sweet idea!
I wonder if you could hack it to get shorter intervals?
Nice one LC!

I bet these things could certainly be circuit-bent for variable intervals; there will almost certainly be a resistor in there which controls the clock speed of the circuit... just switch it for a variable resistor and you'll theoretically be able to select any duration between frames.

The particular action used here to depress the cable is probably not new/patented. Or design an easy-to-make variation, way less than USD $15 to manufacture on a small scale. Little black box...we all love those!

The thing about lastcoyote's brilliant idea is that tons of cameras don't have electronic remote jacks, but almost every one does have mechanical cable release! Kind of revolutionary...

Thanks everyone for enjoying the TAS. I'll make somemore close up shots of how I fix the cable inside the machine.

I wish it works for some of you... if you don't mind to carry the air flesher on the street.

Mass market this through Wal-Fart as a solution for cameras without timers...

 Okay, this is going to be very funny now... I capture the close up shot of the TAS now. If you are really serious of making one yourself. Here're the details:

Close up action Video (5.1MB)

Because the pressing device will not bounch back to the (Standby) position, so you can see I add a spring to unpress
