Can I use E64T with my cam--->>>

Post by guylewis30 »

I have a FOCAL XL-303 which according to the manual that came with it takes 25/40 ASA & 100/160 film speeds.

Should I even try EKTACHROME 64T with it or just go with K40?

Thanks guys!

There is no K40

There is no spoon.

Sadly you have one of millions of cams which will not expose 64T correctly. You can try, but your cam will over-expose by 2/3 of a stop. Maybe you can choose a lab that can correct this, otherwise your images will be less than optimal.

You can get K40 re-labeled Wittner-Chrome 40. It ends up costing more.

18 euros per cart...then there's shipping.

All I know is, if you REALLY want K40 you will find it. It just might be more expensive than you expect.

Does your camera not have a manual apeture control? If it does, you can take a TTL reading on auto, then add 2/3 stop to the exposure. Its very quick and easy (depending on the set up of your camera).

Hi,

the camera is not listed in the Super8Wiki
http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Super_8 ... ld_cameras
or on "Mike Cameras"'s page
http://www.film.project-consultant.de/h ... meras.html

So you'll have to try the "Super 8 Cartridge Notch Ruler"
http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Super_8 ... otch_Ruler
When the ruler says that the e64t will be rated as 40ASA, you might be able to use the e64t since most light-meters aren't that exact anyway. Hence when you're lucky, the results might look only a little bit overexposed.

Good luck,
Jörg
